How you can support the Shepardson STEM Media Center
Birthday/Honor Books
While we are fortunate to have a wonderful Principal and PTO that support our library there are many books that our students ask for that our budget cannot stretch to.
Using our birthday/honor book program is a great way for family and friends to support our Media Center and also honor a child's birthday or special achievement. It also helps to keep our collection fresh and exciting.
If you would like to donate a book to our school, you may purchase through the Amazon Wish List (below) or simply buy a book on the wish list from your favorite book seller. We respectfully ask that you purchase a hard cover or library bound edition as a paperback book does not withstand the large amount of 'love' that our elementary students shows to our book collection :-) A book plate will be added to the book to honor your child.

'STEMy' Things
If you have read my blog you will know that every week the students spend time enjoying STEM activities in the Media Center. This is an opportunity for your child to spend time creating, exploring, collaborating and just having lots of fun. I have many fun things for them to use but I am always looking to expand and enhance the things I offer the students.
If you have toys/books/items that your child may have outgrown or grown tired of playing with then I would love to have it in our Media Center. If it is something that I cannot use then I would offer it to one of our teachers who would love to make use of them.
Some of the things I am always on the lookout for:
Lego
Duplo
Lincoln Logs
Squigz
Origami paper
Zoob
Tinker Toys
Magformers
Bright Builders/Connect and Create Rings
Bristle Blocks
Power Rings/Color Clix
Gears! Gears! Gears!
Kid K'Nex
K'Nex
Quadrilla Marble Run
Rubik's cubes
Find It's
