Well, we are down to the last 3 weeks of school. Some important dates and things to remember:
Here's what we got up to this week:
- There is no more book checkout
- All books should be returned by this Friday, May 13
- If your child has lost a book then the book must be paid for by Monday May 23.
- As an incentive for the students to return their books, each class that returns all books (or pays for lost books) will get a popsicle party with me during their library day during the last week of school.
- If you have any questions about your child's library record then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Here's what we got up to this week:
- Kindergarten have moved on to planets in their classroom. We read a fiction story about Max the space dog, and then completed a Planet/Not a Planet sort. Your students did a wonderful job, even identifying comets, asteroids and galaxies as Not a Planet.
- In First Grade we read the book The Great Kapok Tree and completed an activity about Plant Parts and Plant Needs.
- In Second Grade we read Wolf Island about what happens to a biome when a top predator leaves. We then completed a Cause and Effect activity on which we had a fun and interesting discussion.
- In Third Grade, Mr. Mason's class began to explore atlases. Mrs. Engstrom's and Mrs. Repenning's class did a Lego Story Starters activity (this will switch next week).
- Fourth Grade did a Lego Story Starters activity.
- Fifth Grade did a Lego Story Starters activity.
