Readathon day was Monday, there were many book themed characters wandering the school and it was great to have such great weather so our parade could go outside this year. A very big thank you to the Readathon Committee for making this day so successful for Shepardson.
Kindergarten were busy on a farm animal unit in their classroom so we read Dooby Dooby Moo and we completed a Farm Animal ABC order activity.
In First Grade we read the folktale Strega Nona and then wrote and drew about our favorite parts of the story.
In Second Grade we read Big Wolf and Little Wolf and then worked on being proficient at using tables of contents.
Third Grade worked on using context clues to identify book subjects and titles from book covers.
With Fourth Grade we began our study of the Dewey Decimal System.
With Fifth Grade we continued looking at reference materials, in particular we looked at the text features of almanacs.
